CND Sapphire Sparkle + FingerPaints Black Expressionism

Hello, my lovely readers! I only have time for a quick post today, which is okay because this mani speaks volumes on its own. =D This is two coats of CND Sapphire Sparkle over one coat of FingerPaints Black Expressionism.

Is this not perfect? ^.^

Barielle Elle's Spell

I actually managed to put on a red polish this time! Can you guys believe it?! =D

Elle's Spell was originally released as part of Barielle's 2010 Holiday Hustle collection. Elle's Spell is multi-colored flakies in a red jelly base. The base is relatively sheer, so I layered it over a deep red shimmer, Zoya Blair. What you see here is two coats of Elle's Spell over one coat of Blair.

The formula is great, and it doesn't get much prettier than this. It feels so incredibly festive!

I understand that Elle's Spell can reach opacity on its own with about 3-4 coats. I just wanted to see what it would look like over a red shimmer, and I wasn't disappointed.

I've also seen pictures over it layered over black and dark purples that were drool worthy. I'll probably try it over Orly Wild Wisteria next time I wear it.

I'm seriously considering making this my Christmas mani this year. I was planning on something like China Glaze Mistletoe Kisses, but I'm torn since wearing this one!

Barielle polishes are available at Barielle's website, as well as Transdesign, which ships internationally. Some shades were being sold at Ulta for a while, but my Ulta doesn't have them anymore. =\

Happy Friday, folks!

Cult Nails Clairvoyant

Clairvoyant was originally released in a very limited run under the name Unicorn Puke, and as soon as I saw the first pictures, I knew that I needed to have it. It went on sale Thanksgiving night, and I managed to snag a bottle before it sold out. This one is a doozy, so brace yourself!

Clairvoyant is multicolored flakies in a purple jelly base. There's green in there, and blue, and purple... just incredible.

You'll want to click these pictures to make them bigger. (You can do that will all the pics on my blog, in case you didn't know!).

This is two coats of Clairvoyant over one coat of Revlon Top Speed Royal. The formula is great, completely non-fussy, and it dries pretty fast.

The flakies lie completely smooth, so there's no issues with it feeling rough or gritty with just a normal layer of top coat.

Clairvoyant is currently out of stock, but I've read that it's expected to be back in stock in February at Cult Nails

Hope y'all are all staying warm! Thanks for stopping by! =)

Undercurrent - A Franken

Fun fact, I used to franken all the time, but I never actually wore the stuff I made. It just didn't feel like real polish to me or something, so they would just sit. I think it's partly because they were never anything that exciting. But my bottle of The N Girls reignited the franken fire. I've been wanting a blue version of Merry Midnight/Fowl Play, and I decided to set about creating one.

Meet Undercurrent, which was named by my dear friend Kittentoes. I had a TON of great name suggestions on the nail board, but Undercurrent was the one that called out to me the most.

I will tell you all what I used, but I don't have an exact recipe. I just kept adding things until it looked like I wanted.

I started with about a half a bottle of Sinful Pearl Harbor. Then I dumped in some Nfu Oh 53 - not too much because I hate using my more expensive polishes in frankens, but I didn't have much choice if I wanted flakies. Then I added in some Orly Stone Cold, followed by OPI Yoga-ta Get The Blue and Wet n Wild Nocturnal to darken it up. Then some clear and some thinner because it was pretty goopy. Afterwards I realized I had a small bottle of flakies in a clear base, so I added a little more flakies to the mix. And Undercurrent was born.

I knew I was successful because for the first time EVER with a franken of my own making, I wanted to put it on immediately. This is three coats, and I absolutely love it. LOVE it!

I have franken fever now, I think. O.o

The N Girls

I had the best surprise yesterday. A swap came in with my sweet friend Nan from the nail board, and she had included the most amazing extra - a franken that she made and named The N Girls (Noelie and Nan, get it??) Anyway... it's amazing. AMAZING. Flakies and glitter and purple... like unicorns and magic in a bottle. Two easy, peasy coats. Total love. Do yourself a favor, click on these to make them bigger. It's worth it!

Thank you so much, my sweet friend! I love this baby!

As Promised - Orly Fowl Play

Love, love, love, love, LOVE.

Holy schnikies.

Three coats. I actually think it would have been fine with two, but I was battling a headache and I needed three coats to fix the messy application.

I am like this:  O.O

Incredibly beautiful and complex. Shimmer, flakies, glitter, all wrapped up in a dark purple jelly base.

Unbelievable.

Happy Tuesday, y'all. Thanks for stopping by! Pin It

Nfu Oh 56

This probably would have been better if I'd layered it over black, but I put Nfu Oh 56 over yesterday's China Glaze Custom Kicks mani.

I like it though! It's subtle instead of in your face.

I had a devil of a time trying to capture the shimmer, and the sun has refused to come out and play, so I'm afraid this is as good as it's gonna get. *sigh*

Happy Friday, everyone! Once again, welcome to all the new folks, and don't forget to enter my giveaway!

Death of a Lemming - Nfu Oh 51 =)

I have wanted this polish for months, and it's been out of stock ever since I decided that I wanted it. As soon as I got the e-mail from Fabulous Street saying that it was back in stock, it was in my basket and paid for.

Without further ado, here she is, Nfu Oh 51. This is one coat over one coat of Orly Wild Wisteria. What an amazing polish. *sigh*
