Teeez Outta Control

Teeez Outta Control is a long time lemming, finally fulfilled by one of my nail pals. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Hope y'all are having a good Sunday! =)

Here we are in the shade. I adore the color even here.

And in the sun.

Sephora by OPI Midnight Mambo

Midnight Mambo was on my wishlist for such a long time, and it's one of those polishes that I just never seemed to get around to buying. It's a Sephora online exclusive, and I don't order from Sephora very often, so maybe that's why it took me so long to get it. At any rate, here we go.

Two coats. Application was decent. It's a little on the thick side, so I'll definitely add some thinner before using it next time.

It is a very, very thirsty glitter though. I did one coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails, then one coat of Pro FX. About 10 minutes later, it was getting bumpy again, so I did another coat of Pro FX. By morning... yep... bumpy AGAIN. Another coat of Hard as Nails... still bumpy. o.O I do wonder if maybe I had used Gelous instead of Hard as Nails if maybe it would have been better. I'll try that again next time I wear it, I guess.

I just love this. It's pretty much perfect, aside from the seemingly unending appetite it has for top coat!

Anyway, hope you all are having a good weekend, thanks for visiting!

Essence Blue Addicted

Essence Blue Addicted is another of the polishes that came in the awesome birthday package from my buddy in Ireland. If you're thinking it looks familiar, that's because it's pretty much a dead on dupe for Lippmann Across the Universe.

Blue Addicted is blue and green hex glitter, along with blue micro glitter, in a dark blue jelly base. I think you could probably reach opacity with about three coats, but I layered two coats on top of one coat of American Apparel Passport Blue.

Honestly, one coat over Passport Blue would probably have been fine, but I like the look of it with more glitter per nail.

I topped it off with one coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails and then a coat of Pro FX Quick Dry to smooth things out. I'm not sure why the polish looks a little dull in these pics, it's much shinier in person and the combination of those two top coats made it smooth as glass.

Total love. =)

FingerPaints Sketch N Etch

A friend of mine recently put me onto Sketch N Etch, telling me that it was probably the closest easy to obtain dupe for the elusive Essie Dominica Green. It's not an exact dupe, but it's pretty darn close. Here she is.

Beautiful, no? I used three coats in these pictures. Two probably would have been enough if I'd been careful, but I wasn't. I had some patchiness after two coats, but it was perfect after three.

I absolutely love this. And the best part is, it's in the core FingerPaints line at Sally's. =)

And one more for good measure!

Until next time, thanks for dropping by! <3

Spectraflair Franken, As Yet Unnamed

A buddy of mine sent me some suspension base, so I was able to make my first full out franken with my Spectraflair. I used a recipe from More Nail Polish (also my Spectraflair source), and this is what I came up with. I used about 2/3 of a bottle of clear, about 1/3 of a bottle of suspension base, about 30 drops of Kleancolor Metallic Aqua, and 3 little scoops of Spectraflair. It needs a good name!

Here it is in the shade.

And in my lightbox. This is pretty much how it looks inside my house.

 And then... outside. *angels sing*

 Ah-maze-ing!

Thanks for visiting!

Chanel Graphite

I don't normally buy Chanels. I've had terrible wear issues with Chanels in the past, and with the price tag that they carry, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to last more than a day. However, I put on Chanel Graphite two days ago and... so far, so good. It survived a long day of thrifting yesterday with nary a chip or tipwear to be seen. This is both good and bad news, of course, because it's making me re-evaluate my attitude towards Chanels. Uh oh.

Anyway, here she is. Two easy coats, it's really just perfect in every way.

Hope your weekend is going well! Thanks for stopping by. =)

I have really amazing friends...

I posted Essence Blue Ray the other day, but I forgot to post a picture of the entire package that accompanied it. This is what came from one of my friends in Ireland as a birthday gift.

Then the following day, this arrived. I knew a package was coming, but I didn't know what was in it.

What have we here?

Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers??! I thought it couldn't get any better, then I opened the other one. You can see in the background what it was.

Yeah, I pretty much almost passed out here.

I had two other great packages just a couple of weeks ago, but I was so tired when I opened them that I forgot to take pictures. =( One was some magnificent holos from Asia, and one was the package that included Glitter Gal Marine Blue. In my defense, there was amazing gingerbread in that package, and in my Cookie Monster-esque feeding frenzy, the thought of snapping pictures didn't even occur to me. ^.^

Anyway, the point is... I am truly blessed to have this amazing group of women that I call friends. I am amazed and humbled every day by their kindness and generosity, and I only hope that exhibit those same qualities to the same degree that they do. Love you, ladies. You know who you are. =)

Cheap Thrills International Edition - Guppy No. 13

I first heard about this brand of polish on the lovely Nihrida's blog. That very same day, a buddy of mine showed me some pictures a Guppy polish she had bought and the rest, as they say, is history. I ran to eBay and ordered three of them for $3.55 each shipped. I believe that Guppy is a Korean brand, but I ordered the polishes from a seller in Hong Kong. They arrived about 10 days later, and this is the first one I've worn, Guppy 13.

First off... sanding fruit extract? Yeah, I don't know either.

I can't tell you how great this polish is. Formula is great, it dries really fast. It does dry down to an almost matte finish, but it's not a matte polish. It's glitter, and how.

It does dry VERY gritty, and it is a super thirsty glitter. I topped it with Gelous + Pro FX Quick Dry and when it was dry, it was still gritty. I put another coat of Pro FX on it... still gritty. O.O

So I tossed a coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails on it this morning... still gritty. I have no idea how this is possible, but at that point, I decided to just deal with it. I'm willing to put up with a little grittiness for something this beautiful.

It actually was freaking out my camera a little bit. I took a few shots where my fingers were completely in focus, but my nails were blurry because my camera couldn't figure how to focus with all the shine. ^.^

Amazing, no?

This is the seller I purchased these polishes from. And just for reference, if you want to search on eBay for them, you have to search for CUDDV rather than GUPPY. It's listed the wrong way, I guess because of the font on the bottle.

Anyway, as always, thanks for stopping by! Hope you all had a great week and are looking forward to a wonderful weekend! <3

Essence Blue Ray

Essence Blue Ray came to me as a surprise in a birthday gift from my sweet friend, Denisa. I put it on almost immediately, and it was instant love. Check out the bottle pic!

The duochrome effect isn't quite as pronounced on the nail as it is in the bottle (don't we all wish?), but this polish is a beauty nonetheless. Two easy coats, great formula, great brush.

I took a bunch of pics to try to capture the blue to purple shift. So beautiful.

And a couple outside in the bright sunshine!

I love duochromes so, so much. I need more! =D

Thanks for stopping by, hope your week is going well!
