I've been seeing Blue Sky at Rite Aid for a while, and I've seen conflicting reports about it out in the blogsophere. After I got over my pathological hatred of brush strokes (I'm still not a fan, but I'll tolerate them if the polish is awesome enough), I picked this up to give it a try.
Okay, so here it is, a duochrome that flashes blue and green and sometimes purple. It's not ugly or anything, in fact it's quite pretty. But this is, to date, the oddest formula and worst application I've ever encountered. The formula was somehow both thick and runny at the same time. O.o And the application... my goodness. I consider myself pretty dang good at applying finicky polishes, but this... this is from some other planet of difficult. Cuticle drag, bubbling, bald spots, you name it. Just terrible.
Three coats later, and I had finally gotten it to the point of not looking too horrific. Slapped on my top coat, took the pictures. It's very pretty, but I kept glaring at it for being such a trainwreck. But the straw that really broke the camel's back was when it started chipping less than 3 hours later. Yeah, that is something I simply won't tolerate, and I doubly won't tolerate it in a polish that was this much of a nightmare to apply.
So yeah, it's pretty and all that jazz. But the display should have a sign that says, "ABANDON HOPE, ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE." You've been warned!
