SpaRitual Eye of the Beholder

I have a bit of an odd choice for me today - SpaRitual Eye of the Beholder. I've sort of developed a penchant for buying these bright warm-leaning greens, but then I put them on and I can't decide how I feel about them. This one is super, mega-bright on me. I'm on the fence though... not sure whether to keep or purge!

The formula on this one is pretty decent. The first coat was streaky, and I had to apply the second coat with a light hand. It wanted to drag around my cuticles, but all in all it wasn't too bad. Not as great as some of my other SpaRituals, but these yellowy greens can be problematic.

Happy Hump Day! Hope you all are having a good week. Thanks for stopping by!

SpaRitual Greenhouse

Greenhouse is the other half of SpaRitual's Love Your Planet Earth Day duo, along with Earth Matters, which I blogged about here.

While not quite as impressive as Earth Matters, Greenhouse is absolutely beautiful as well. It's a warm, gold-tinged green foil that almost borders on metallic.

As you can see, this is another of those greens that looks really different depending on lighting. Outside it takes on a cooler hue, while inside the gold really comes out.

The formula is good, though a little sheer - which seems to often be the case with foils, so I was prepared for that. It dries super fast though, so doing three coats wasn't a problem at all.

I was afraid this would be too warm on me, but I really ended up loving it. It's always a nice surprise when that happens. ^_^

Happy Friday, hope you all enjoy your weekend!

SpaRitual Moss

I have a rotten headache, so I'm afraid this will be short and sweet. SpaRitual Moss is one of the best light greens I've ever used. The color is perfect on my skintone - minty type greens tend to make me pull very red, but this one didn't do that at all. And the formula is seriously top notch. Pastels like this are notorious for being streaky and hard to work with, but this is perfection in two coats. Yet another winner from SpaRitual!

Spa Ritual Earth Matters

*angels sing*

Earth Matter is from SpaRitual's 2011 Earth Day duo, Love Your Planet. This polish wasn't even on my radar until recently when one of my friends posted it in her Top 20 list, and then my other buddy Stef posted pictures of it on her blog. I had to have it. This is one of those lemmings that grabs you fast and fierce and burns with the fire of 1,000 suns. SpaRitual isn't terribly widely distributed, and I was lucky enough to find the Love Your Planet duo still in stock at AveYou when I went to use the gift certificate that my sweet husband had sent me.

Holy wow. Green glitter - I think there's a lighter and a darker green glitter in here - and a sprinkling of gold glitter packed into a green base. These are my favorite kinds of glitters because they build easily on their own, no need to layer them over another polish. What you see here is two easy coats of Earth Matters.

It is a thirsty glitter. I knew it would be before I even got to top coat because it dried fast and to an almost matte finish, the sure sign that this baby was going to suck up top coat like nobody's business. I topped with a coat of Gelous and then Pro FX Quick Dry, and that mostly took care of that problem. I was feeling a tiny bit of grittiness this morning, so I plopped a coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails on top, and all is once again right in my glitter world.

And just for fun, a macro shot. I love macro shots. =)

*sigh* Absolutely amazing.

SpaRitual Sacred Ground

The AveYou haul pics I posted mark the first entry of SpaRitual into my stash. Sacred Ground has been getting a lot of buzz in the blogosphere lately, and it was an instant lemming for me despite not being a color that I'm typically drawn to.

What color is it? I guess I'd call it brown, but a brown that is positively infused with this incredibly rich shimmer. There's gold in there, and a touch of silver, and pink and purple too. The effect is very subtle, but completely stunning.

I wish I had sun so that I could try to capture all the shimmer. I did the best I could with my lightbox, but I have it on good authority that this baby really comes to life in the sun.

Perfect formula, no complaints whatsoever. I'm loving my first SpaRitual, and I won't be overlooking them in the future!

Happy Friday and Happy Labor Day weekend! If you're in the Gulf South like me, hope that Tropical Storm Lee doesn't drench you too badly! And, as always, thanks for stopping by!
